Fabrication
Cold working
Cold working is not suitable for this alloy as it tends to distort the coefficients of thermal expansion.
Annealing
NILO 42 alloy may be annealed at 850 – 1000°C (1560 – 1830°F).
Applications
The NILO 42 alloy is used in the following applications:
- Semiconductor lead frames in integrated circuits
- Bi-metal thermostat strip
- Thermostat rods
- Ceramic-to-metal seals
- Glass-to-metal seals for television tubes, fluorescent lights.
